German Apple Cake Recipe


A tasty twist to a traditional cake recipe.


  • 2 2/3 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 cans apple pie filling - or any flavor fruit pie filling


Crumble flour, baking powder, butter, egg and sugar until fine crumbs form. Do not over mix crumbs. Reserve 1 cup crumb mixture for top, and press remaining crumbs into 13x9x2" pan. Spread with 2 cans of filling. Sprinkle remaining crumbs over the filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
