Blood Orange Olive Oil Brownies Recipe


Your favorite brownies with a twist. Moist, delicious, chocolatey goodness with a hint of orange. Reminiscent of the chocolate oranges you find at Christmas time.


  • 1/4 c. Olive Basin Blood Orange Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped, optional
  • Dark Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar for garnish if desired


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan. In a medium bowl, mix together the blood orange infused olive oil, sugar, and vanilla. Beat in the eggs. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir into the egg mixture until well blended. Stir in walnuts, if desired. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes, or until the brownie begins to pull away from the edges of the pan. Let cool on a wire rack before cutting into squares. Serve alone or topped with whipped cream. They may also be served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with our Dark Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar.
