Bacon Dressing Recipe


A signature Lancaster County dressing!


  • 8 Strips of Bacon
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar (brown or white)
  • 3 tsp of cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tspof dry mustard
  • 1 1/4 cups of water
  • 1/2 cup of vinegar


Fry bacon-grease & all. Stir dry ingredients in small bowl. Add water and vinegar. Pour over bacon and grease. Boil till thick.

Brown sugar will make a darker dressing.

We usually double for family of 8.

Enjoy wam over lettuce. Can add hard boiled eggs.

Can be reheated if you have leftovers.
