What's New in the Village?

There are many new faces around Kitchen Kettle Village this year in regard to our store fronts! Some of your favorite stores have gotten face lifts, while we have one brand new addition. Our newest store is called Happy Camper and features camping gear and gifts.

Happy Camper is located in the space formerly home to Girls Cottage, next to Paw Prints and Girls Day Out. Some of our favorite pieces that you should check out at Happy Camper are the best-selling Fjallraven Kanken backpacks, and the store’s own locally printed and designed outdoor inspired tees. For those unfamiliar with the Fjallraven Kanken backpack, it is a performance pack that is great for everyday use. Originally created in 1978, the company focuses on the environment from its home office in Sweden. These packs retail for under $100. Also, don’t forget about the tees that you can get only at Happy Camper. Many of these tees are fabricated from performance fabric and make a great gift for outdoor and Lancaster County lovers. These pieces retail between $20-$30 and always ship for free, buy one get one 40% off!

The story of the new Collectibles store started many years ago in a village favorite, The Deerskin Leather Shop. Deerskin, owned for decades by Kitchen Kettle Village founder Pat Burnley’s son, has sold the quality leather handbag and silver jewelry collection, Brighton, since the 1970’s. In the early 2000's the Brighton collection was moved out of the leather store to their own store. This year the collection has evolved yet again changing from a store that sold only Brighton handbags and jewelry, to a store that now sells handbags and jewelry from other designers as well. Check out a fan favorite, the Brighton Buggy charm/ pendant that is only $17 and ships for free!

The final face lift we would like to share with you is that of Village Handmade, formerly Village Quilts. Village Quilts has been known for the last decade to sell locally hand quilted 5-diamond quilts. The store has now expanded to sell locally made and American made small goods. Village Handmade now sports a new and colorful design. Check the store out to see what they are making in-house Friday and Saturday. With prices now starting at just $5!

The three stores highlighted here are owned and operated by Devon Burnley, grand daughter to Kitchen Kettle Village founder Pat Burnley. Interested in getting an item shipped from the stores? Just give them a call!
