Shop Local this Holiday at Kitchen Kettle Village

Small Business Saturday is just around the corner on Saturday, November 30th and I cannot think of a better place to shop than Kitchen Kettle Village. I know, I work here, but the Village is a small business with over 40 unique shops & restaurants (also small businesses) – so it is a no brainer. You’ll find everything from locally made items, to national brands, to homemade food and so much more.

It is like a treasure hunt at Kitchen Kettle Village because you never know what fabulous gifts you might find for all those special people on your list. Below are a few of my favorites, but honestly, I could have included 50!

  1. Kling House Restaurant gift certificate, so I can grab a friend and enjoy a cozy breakfast or lunch in the original home of Kitchen Kettle’s founder, Pat Burnley. Sit by the fireplace in the dining room for a real treat, while sharing some laughs and a hot chocolate.
  2. Chocolate covered jumbo marshmallows from Pepper Lane Fudge & Sweets. These are for my daughter’s stocking. She has always loved the chocolate covered marshmallows, but this year they look like they are on steroids with dark, milk or white chocolate, jimmies and festive sticks. They almost look too good to eat.
  3. A bottle of Waltz wine. The new Crisp, an apple wine that tastes like a Chardonnay, makes a delicious choice when going parties and you need a hostess gift
  4. Strawberry Rhubarb Jam from the Jam & Relish Kitchen. It tastes like spring in a jar and I we need that in January, plus it reminds me that the Rhubarb Festival at Kitchen Kettle Village rolls around in mid-May and it kicks off our festival season for the year. I think my sister, who loves to bake with rhubarb will get this.
  5. Locally made dog biscuits make a tasty treat for our furry friends. Visit Paw Prints for fun pet treat and gifts, as well as unique gifts for animal lovers!
  6. Warm, cozy Minnetonka moccasins from the Deerskin Leather Shop are a huge hit with the men on my list. The are available in men and women’s sizes.
  7. A fresh, decorative pot or wreath from Perfect Pots is a great gift for yourself and makes your home look even more festive.
  8. My newest fun find is the display of bath & body products from The Gift House. They have shampoo and conditioner bars (great for people who travel), along with bath bombs and bath salts in wonderful scents.
  9. For my friends who knit – and I have a few, The Lancaster Yarn Shop has an abundance of colorful and beautiful yarns. Plus, the owner Wendy runs lots of workshops to inspire knitters of all levels. If you don’t what type of yarn to select, they offer gift certificates.
  10.

And did I mention that shopping in our Village is actually fun? The Village is open Monday-Saturday from 9-5pm (the Kling House opens at 8am for breakfast). Come on a Friday night (Thanksgiving-December 20th) when we stay open late until 9pm or on a Saturday and enjoy live music, marshmallow roasting and complimentary hot beverages to get you into the holiday spirit. Happy holidays – and remember to stay calm & shop on!
