7 Apple Recipes to Warm Up With

It’s finally Fall y’all, and Kitchen Kettle Village is whippin’ up some warm apple recipes to make the season even sweeter.

This first recipe is very simple and easy to make apple pie. Our rustic apple pie recipe is a commonly used recipe for Autumn because of locally grown apples that are in season, it’s great to utilize them for a fall dessert.

RUSTIC APPLE PIE RECIPE       apple pie

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 9″ pastry sheet for pies
  • 5 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples (McIntosh, Granny Smith)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • dash of salt
  • Optional: 1/2 cup raisins or 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Basin Cinnamon Pear Balsamic Vinegar

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Unroll pastry on parchment covered baking sheet.
  3. In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Add apple slices and stir to coat with the flour sugar mixture.
    Gently pour apple mixture into the center of the pastry sheet, leaving a 2-inch ring around the edges.
  5. Gently put edges up to center.
  6. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar.
  7. Bake at 375 for 35-40 minutes or until apples are tender and pastry is golden brown.
  8. You may have to cover the pastry with strips of aluminum foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.

CARAMEL APPLE DIP RECIPEcaramel apples

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 8oz pkg cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts
  • 5 apples or pears, wedged

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Combine softened cream cheese, apple butter, brown sugar & vanilla.
  2. Add chopped nuts & mix well until combined.
  3. Feel free to serve the (warm) dip as is, or you can chill 45 min to 1 hour before serving.
  4. Serve with fruit wedges.

PEANUT APPLE BROWN BETTY RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 T. flour
  • 1/8 t salt
  • 1/2 t cinnamon
  • 3 cups sliced apples

Topping:

  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1/4 t baking soda
  • 1/4 t baking powder
  • 1 pint Kitchen Kettle Peanut Butter Schmier

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix sugar flour, cinnamon and salt.
  2. Combine dry ingredients with sliced apples.
  3. Mix well and place in the bottom of a greased 9×9 pan or casserole dish.

Topping:

  1. Combine dry ingredients and rub in butter to make crumbs. Set aside!
  2. Pour 1 pint Kitchen Kettle Peanut Butter Schmier evenly over apple mixture.
  3. Put crumbs on top.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
  5. Serve hot or cold. Makes 8 servings.

APPLE SAUCE CAKE RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugarCherry Hill Orchards Apples
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup melted margarine
  • 1/2 can apple sauce
  • 1/2 pt of Kitchen Kettle apple butter

Optional:

  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix in order until well blended
  2. Pour into greased and flowered 9x9x2″ pan.
  3. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes cool and frost with favorite frosting.

HARVEST PUMPKIN DIP RECIPE harvest fluff

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 oz. cream cheese
  • 7 oz. container of marshmallow creme
  • 1 jar Kitchen Kettle Pumpkin Butter
  • Apple slices for serving

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Blend cream cheese and marshmallow creme until smooth.
  2. Add Kitchen Kettle Pumpkin Butter and blend thoroughly.
  3. Serve with apple slices, ginger snaps or animal crackers.
  4. It also tastes great when spread over pound cake.

APPLE WAFFLES WITH APPLE CINNAMON JELLY

INGREDIENTS

For the waffles:

  • 1 1/4 cups cake flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 large eggs separatedwaffles
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 3/4 cups finely chopped apples peeled
  • 6 tablespoons butter melted

Topping:

  • Top off with 2 tbsp. of apple cinnamon jelly
  • 1 apple, sliced or diced (according to your preference)
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tsp. of cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

Waffles:

  1. Stir together the dry ingredients.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk the egg yolks, then add the milk and whisk again.
  3. Pour the egg mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Add the chopped apples and melted butter.
  5. Using a mixer, beat the egg whites until they are fluffy and stiff.
  6. Fold the egg whites into the batter.
  7. Spoon the batter into a hot waffle iron and cook. Makes 8 waffles, 4″ square.

Topping:

  1. Place the apple slices in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the water and cinnamon.
  3. Allow the apples to come to a gentle boil and cook for two minutes.
  4. Then drain the water, remove the apples from the skillet, and place on the top of the waffles.
  5. Then take your apple cinnamon jelly and place on top of the warm apples and enjoy!

Here is the perfect recipe for a crisp fall evening, apple butter baked beans which will warm your heart right up!

APPLE BUTTER BAKED BEANS

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 15.5-ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup Kitchen Kettle apple butter
  • ? cup honeybaked beans
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 Tablespoons minced dried onion
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 15.5-ounce can great northern beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 15-ounce can red or pinto beans, drained

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat oven to 375°F
  2. Mix all ingredients except beans in large bowl.
  3. Stir in beans.
  4. Pour into 2-quart baking dish or casserole.
  5. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
