Welcome to Garnett Pottery, a family business where Phil makes the pots and Steph runs the store, as she has for the past ten years. Our store is the only place you can purchase Garnett Pottery and is exclusive to Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse, Pa.
Phil throws every pot himself, as he wants each piece to express his character, capturing his own idea of 'primitive functionality'. "I like all my work to show the mark of the craftsman so I purposely leave texture in the clay to enhance the tactile quality of handmade work," says Phil.
There are over a half dozen glazes to choose from, which are all made from scratch, using raw minerals. Every glaze is safe for oven, microwave and dishwasher use and there is absolutely no lead content.
Phil and Steph believe their pottery should be inexpensive and they know their prices compare favorably with other American handmade pottery. "It must be so," says Steph "because my customers tell me everyday." In fact our mission statement is simply: Local, hand made pottery at an affordable price.
So if you are looking for that unique gift or something special for your home while in Lancaster County, Pa, let Steph help you find the perfect piece.
