Cannin' and Jammin' Since 1954!
I remember the day my husband Bob bought a wholesale jam and jelly business from a woman in Harrisburg for $5,000. I don't know how much that would be today, but I do know how mad Bob's mother was. She'd been in our house helping me take care of our third child and had just announced that she had things to do and that we were on our own. This was 1954.
Knowing full well that we couldn't do it on our own, Bob and I quickly recruited the help of our neighbors. People like Ben Stoltzfus, Bill Skethway, and Joanne High contributed big parts to the first 25 years of Kitchen Kettle Village. They not only worked for us but they reminded us of the strength of our community. It's this community in the town of Intercourse that has helped us to grow while still honoring the traditions that make Lancaster County so attractive.
We sure didn't build this place overnight, so in 2014 we want to honor that process that took 60 years. Join us for a week long celebration starting on Saturday, August 2nd and running through Saturday, 9th, 2014. There will be music, food, prizes and much more. Mark your calendar for this exciting week to celebrate the past & the future!
